Blowing dense-packed cellulose, it’s like magic

With Pro Clima’s reinforced intelligent membranes INTELLO Plus, DB+ and the exterior vapor open SOLITEX Plus WRB – dense-packing cellulose becomes easier and verifiable. Since the membranes are flexible, unlike OSB/drywall you can feel the cavity fill up. Once it feels like a rigid mattress you have reached the right density. The semi-translucent INTELLO will also allow you to see the cellulose fill. Both elements make it much easier to check that all bays are properly filled.

    Thank you for sharing your experience with these products. I am happy to see a vapor open option being explored, as I am a proponent of interior air barriers, letting the walls breath to the exterior. My secondary (or simultaneous primary) goal is also to achieve limited or zero toxicity in the wall framing materials. What are your thoughts on these products from that regard? Obviously polypropylene is not “green” from the standpoint of its origin and bio-degradation (or lack of), but is there a better option, which serves a similar mechanical function? I am aware of #15 felt, but even it does not come with a fully clean slate.

      The product that will suite your requirements is ProClima DB+. It is a paperbased material, 50% recycled content, that is a very good smart vapor retarder.
      It has a reinforcement grid made out of fiberglass. Which means it also can be used to densepack insulation behind it.

      #15 felt – rips very easily – is not very durable. Furthermore felt cannot be used as densepacking netting + using it as an airbarrier is not recommended. The material was not designed or tested for that purpose.
